In January the Patel School had the opportunity to showcase its work at two prestigious D.C.- based organizations. On January 19, Dr. Vairavamoorthy spoke at a Water Security for Humankind and Biodiversity workshop during the 12th National Conference on Science, Policy and the Environment organized by the National Council for Science and the Environment (NCSE). The three day conference was attended by environmental policy leaders from around the U.S. giving PSGS good national exposure.
On January 26, Dr. Vairavamoorthy presented to the Center for Strategic and International Studies (CSIS) water working group. He focused his remarks on the Cities of the Future work that PSGS is conducting with the World Bank and UN-HABITAT. The water group comprises members from Executive Branch agencies, Congressional staff, the private sector, academia, and NGOs in Washington, DC. The group meets monthly to discuss emerging issues in the water policy sector.
