The 2011 secondary science professional study day, “Accessing the World through Science,” was held at the Patel Center for Global Solutions on August 17. The event brought together secondary science teachers from the eighth largest school district in the country, representing 27 high schools in the greater Tampa area. The Director of K-12 S.T.E.M. Education, Mr. Larry R. Plank, and Supervisor of Secondary Science, Mr. Dan McFarland, were among the prominent speakers. PSGS Graduate Assistant Sadia Ahmed welcomed the group with a presentation, and a tour of the LEED-certified Patel Center for Global Solutions concluded the day’s events.
