M.A. Program Admissions

This program follows USF Admission Standards in that a minimum of 3.0 GPA will be required for entrance. Applicants whose native language is not English or who have not earned a degree in the United States must also submit TOEFL scores earned within two (2) years of the desired term of entry. A minimum total score of 79 on the internet-based test or 550 on the paper-based test are required. Applications submitted with TOEFL scores that do not meet the minimum requirements will be denied.

The TOEFL requirement may be waived if the applicant meets one of the following conditions:

• The applicant’s native language is English, or
• The applicant scored 500 or higher on the GRE Verbal Test, or
• The applicant has earned a college degree at a US. institution of higher learning, or
• The applicant has earned a college degree from an institution whose language of instruction is English (must be noted on the transcript), or
• The applicant has scored 6.5 on International English Language Testing System (IELTS): http://www.ielts.org
• The GRE will not be required.

Deadline for the 2012-2013 year : May 1, 2012

We will require a 250-500 word essay that includes the applicant’s academic and professional background, concentration pursuing, reason(s) for pursuing this degree, and their professional goals in terms of contributing to global sustainability.

The student is strongly encouraged to provide a resume or CV, and portfolio demonstrating prior work that focuses on sustainability issues.

At least two letters of recommendation, academic are preferred. You must submit at least one (1) academic letter of recommendation to be considered for the program.

Please note that, in addition to tuition and fees, the program will charge a program fee of $7,500 divided among the first two semesters (Fall and Spring) to cover the cost of technology, residency, study abroad, etc.

Applications are only accepted for Fall terms - no Spring admissions.
