Student Profiles highlight commitment to sustainability

The Patel College of Global Sustainability has a vibrant student community with diverse backgrounds, each bringing unique perspectives to sustainability challenges. These students engage in innovative projects and research, showcasing their commitment to sustainable development. With that in mind, we are compiling a series of profiles that can be read by linking here to a special webpage featuring our PCGS students. To kick off the series, read insights into the educational journeys of three of our students in their own words. Lifetime Achievement in Sustainability Award: Sylvia Earle

The USF Patel College of Global Sustainability celebrated its 10th Year Anniversary Celebration and All-Class Reunion and Alumni Conference with honored guests that included Tampa Mayor Jane Castor; PCGS founders Drs. Kiran C. and Pallavi Patel, who received the Global Sustainability Award for Decades of Service to Humanity; oceanographer and explorer Dr. Sylvia Earle, shown here, who received the Lifetime Achievement in Sustainability award; and Maryann and Sonny Bishop of Rosebud Continuum, who received the Esteemed Sustainability Partner Award. The anniversary sustainability conference included alumni and current student keynotes, as well as panels featuring PCGS alumni working in various sustainability fields. What's Happening at PCGS

Climate Action Plan

TB Clean Air

PCGS is partnering with an inter-agency team to help create the first regional Climate Action Plan for the Tampa Bay area, named “Clean Air Tampa Bay.” PCGS Professors Dr. Pradeep Haldar and Dr. Kebreab Ghebremichael and graduate students Daniel Bianco and Katia Aldana Campos are working on the project.
